Once a Bond Girl always a Bond Girl

“James Bond: Don't worry. I'm not supposed to be here either.
Honey Ryder: Are you looking for shells too?
James Bond: No, I'm just looking.

How could we not remember a woman of striking beauty without a name as Honey Rider or Pussy Galore? Since the first Bond Film and the first book there has always been a leading woman who has played a vital role as the companion to the Secret Service agent. They can play a very different role on any James bond Stories. Sometimes as companion or as the new object of affection other times they are an undercover agent like him fighting for the same cause. There have been many different Bond Girls in all the James Bond Movies. Personally, I have always loved the Bond girls that started in The 60’s Bond film series. My favorite Bond girl would have to be Honey Rider, the first memorable Bond Girl. She was played by Ursula Andress. There is just a moment of magic and amazement every time she appears in her white bikini scene in the 1962 film Dr No. I think the 60s Bond Girls have a charm that cannot be found in the film actresses of the present. It is a natural beauty that makes the early movies memorable. Pussy Galore is another popular bond girl that lives to her name, portrayed by Honor Blackman. She was leading Bond Girl in the 1964 film Goldfinger. She had different characteristic from previous Bond girls in Past 007 films. She began as an allied of the movies main antagonist and later turned to help Bond succeed in his mission. Perhaps the most distinguished characteristic of Pussy Galore is that she is not a typical helpless Bond girl. She was a martial arts expert and was capable of going hand to hand with James Bond a quality that makes her equal to any male adventurer counterpart.
Which is your Favorite Bond Girl, and why?

The Birth of an Icon and the Legacy of an Author

“You only live twice:
Once when you're born
And once when you look death in the face."
— Ian Fleming (You Only Live Twice

Before we viewed the movies or played the James Bond related video games, there was a man. Ian Fleming will always be remembered as the man who created James Bond. Ian Fleming was born in May Fair, London on May 28, 1908. From what I researched about him, most of his literary work was based on his own experience in World War II where he served at a first lieutenant to the Royal Naval. The character of James Bond was based on different spies of that time that were known for their undercover operations behind enemy lines’. I think that many writers base their work on their own experience or knowledge about their personal lives because they feel that what they know is the only true motivation they can have when they are writing. Also, because the characters they based their ideas on become a true and personal creation that is solely inspired by them. When Ian Fleming died on August 12, 1964 he had only written twelve James Bond novels at that time, but many authors have gone to write their own novels based on his character. Therefore the character of 007 is immortal and keeps on living from the work of other authors becoming more than a private creation. What do you think? Can a single author be responsible for creating a character and a story that has inspired other authors for more than 50 years?
