The Adopted Son: By Guy De Maupassant

Some days ago I read a very interesting short story by Guy de Maupassant. He is one of my favorite European writer’s.  He was famous for his ability to tell short and amusing stories.  Now I would like to share that Story with you.  This is:  The Adopted Son.

The two cottages stood beside each other at the foot of a hill near a little seashore resort. The two peasants labored hard on the unproductive soil to rear their little ones, and each family had four.
Before the adjoining doors a whole troop of urchins played and tumbled about from morning till night. The two eldest were six years old, and the youngest were about fifteen months; the marriages, and afterward the births, having taken place nearly simultaneously in both families.
The two mothers could hardly distinguish their own offspring among the lot, and as for the fathers, they were altogether at sea. The eight names danced in their heads; they were always getting them mixed up; and when they wished to call one child, the men often called three names before getting the right one.

When all hell is broke loose on earth

The rumbling began, impatient, low, shivering walls, trembling cup and platter
In nervous crockery nudge and chatter. Hanging planters commenced to sway.
The rumble went away...then magnified, returned when muscular Vesuvius flexed
and boomed with startled glances cast. Dishes fell from shelves to crash and shatter
on the floor. As the volcano flared ascendant, water in garden fountains ebbed and
died, one last living jet to heaven sent.
From the Poem: The Last Days of Pompeii, by Don Gray

The time of changes

If you would attain to what you are not yet, you must always be displeased by what you are.  For where you are pleased with yourself there you have remained.  Keep adding, keep walking, and keep advancing.
Saint Augustine

I would like to make a special announcement on the future changes on this blog. First I would like to thank all my followers who read my blog. It could not be much of a blog if someone was not reading it.

As some life projects developed themselves they become a lot greater than what we could have expected. When that happens we have to change the way and the style we used to had on our former work so that we can live up to our own new works standards. Therefore my blog will no longer be entirely based around The James Bond Franchise. As of now I am going to star blogging on a variety of subjects. From world wide Subjects to movies, and any article I can find as an interesting subject to blog about. When I started this blog I had very few ideas on what to start a blog about, and a James Bond theme seemed like an easy choice. It has been a while and now I feel motivate to talk about more than just a common subject and expand. I am not saying I will stop writing James bond articles, just that I will be adding more things for more subjects. After all what it the meaning of Think it, Write it, Share it if it not more inner thoughts that just one based on a simple subject? I thank my followers and hope that this a new great step on a blog
