Standing Tall
For the last couple of months I have been expressing myself with article based on my own point of view. So to try something different I would like to share my feelings through a poem that a I just wrote.
Standing Tall
By Diego Guarderas
I’m writing a poem
Just a little poem
Just little awesome, poem
Just a little, awesome, kickass poem
That talks about my feelings in the last couple of days
I’m going to grade it,
I give it an A, for awesomeness,
now I have joke for you,
It’s a very a funny joke,
I wrote it just for you
Knock, knock, who’s there, You're there!
Ok it’s not really funny. It at a mistakes
Like all some many things it just a big mistake
But I did again, and again everyday
And I’m still standing tall
How did all this happen?
All the mistakes that we did
And all the wrong choices
And all of the things we should have improved
But it’s all right now
Because we’re all just humans and that’s nobody fault
And mistakes is a part of our human nature too,
Because there is no point crying over spilled milk,
You just do it over and over again until you get it right
Because we all make mistakes everyday, everytime
And I am still standing tall.
I don’t really blame you,
This is me being honest,
Even if I feel you hurt my feelings
And chopped them into a thousand pieces
And put those thousand pieces in paper bag
And put that paper bag in an bigger paper bag
And Fed that bigger paper bag to a pack of starving pit bulls
All these thoughts sure make a beautiful mind
And if you had not hurt me, i might not have written them.
So I’m happy for you. Even if I’m hurt
I’m writing a poem
Just a little poem
Just little awesome, poem
Just a little, awesome, kickass poem

So I’m happy for you. Even if I’m hurt
Because of that now I have an angry poem and
I am still standing tall
You can leave if you want to; I think I want to be left alone
Maybe you will find a better person that I am
By the way that was me being sarcastic
I am still standing tall
You can leave if you want to; I think I want to be left alone
Maybe you will find a better person that I am
By the way that was me being sarcastic
You totally felt for that, I think you did
Maybe I’ll just have some red velvet cheesecake
Oh my God!!
This red Velvet cheesecake just taste so good
It is so sweet and creamy and it tickles in my mouth. Maybe you should have some too
Oh no wait you can’t because you’re not even here
So I will keep on tasting it just to make you feel bad
Because If I am kind mad with you and
I’m still standing tall
What time is it? I don’t have a clue
Oh crap it’s kind of late and there’s still a lot of work to be done
I made another mistake’ but it’s ok
Because it’s not your mistakes
’ and you’re mistakes kind of suck
I have a lot writing that has to be done
And a lot of reading that also has be done
Just like this song I just wrote
And I did it by myself because after all
I’m still standing tall
Even if you’re not reading I’m still standing tall
When you are leaving I’m still standing tall
Oh baby I m still standing tall
Standing tall
Standing tall
Standing tall
Oh my God!!
This red Velvet cheesecake just taste so good
It is so sweet and creamy and it tickles in my mouth. Maybe you should have some too

A World Without Superheroes By Diego Guarderas
It was the year 1974 and a lot of people were waiting long hours in line so they could purchase a ticket for the movie theater. That was the year when “Superman: The Movie” was released in theaters worldwide. It started Christopher Revee as Superman. The film was acclaimed by critic’s audiences everywhere. It was said that that it was the first time anyone had ever seen a classic fictional character be brought back to life for a modern audience. Now we look back at the present time where many other superheroes have made the great leap form the comics to the film industry. Some have just hade their first live action film released for the first time, such as the 2002 film Spider -Man based on the popular character from Marvel Comics. Other superheroes have been turn into a movie franchises such as Batman and Batman Begins based on the Dc comics character which restarted the franchise rather than continuing the original series. Now in 2011 there is so much to look forward to in the movie industry, with new superheroes getting their first start in a live action film genre like Thor or Green Lantern there because there is a demand by the audience to continue producing films based on characters so many of us grew up with. The world of Superheroes and comics have never seen a greater time like right now where they are being accepted and welcomed by all audiences that are ready for the magic and excitement that comes from the CGI and the special effect that can bring to life the world of superheroes. But before hitting the big screen; comics started out as simple monthly magazines you could buy in a store for just five cents. My grandfather told me that he was a witness of the birth of the comic industry. Back then people did not seen the possibility of a movie made based on a comic character, because it was either too expensive or too impossible to create and people thought comic books were just for kids. Back in my grandfathers time; comic adaptations were of much older superheroes such as Flash Gordon or The Phantom. These are characters who are barely are seen at all. These characters were presented back then as film series. This meant that every month or week the audience would pay to see a part of a movie and they would have returned the following week to see the continuation and ending of the film. Superheroes’ have come a long way from comics and short films; this leads to my second point. What is it about the super hero that makes them so popular for kids and young adults today? Maybe it is because superheroes reflect the best of the world around us. Sometimes you can feel yourself with difficulties in life like Spiderman and the Batman have in their stories and other times you can relate to the Hulk or The X Men because you feel like an outsider. If you want to feel good you can think of Superman or Captain America who reflect the best of people and inspire us to be good human beings with the world. Wonder Woman shows us that there is no difference or prejudice when it comes to a male or female superhero role models. Superheroes are an important part of our lives, they inspire us and bring out the best in all of us and make us strive to become better people. If we lived in a world without heroes we would not have popular fictitious characters we could relate to. So whether it is Batman, Spiderman, Iron Man, Wonder Woman, or any other character it does not matter as long as there are Superheroes in the world of media and it is good to see them reflect the good nature we all have in us. So let’s look forward the new generation of Superheroes that come to life in the movie world through new interest from fans and audiences alike, because right now superheroes are the best of all of us and they are part of our everyday life.

Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein
Here for no particular reason is a short poem by famous children’s author Shel Silverstein. Its called Where the Sidewalk Ends
There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.
Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.
Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.
